What We Believe
The scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the written Word of God.
We believe in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the church is the body of Jesus Christ in the world today and that the only true head of the church is Jesus Christ.
We believe salvation is found in no other name under heaven outside of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Christ died and rose from the grave to give humanity forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life.
Christ’s salvation is not merited by our good works or by our sacrifices but by Christ’s finished work on the cross and his perfect sacrifice. Our salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
Our Ministry
We strive to glorify God through active congregational fellowship, weekly worship, summer VBS programs, missionary relationships, Sunday school fellowship groups, Bible studies, community outreach, and our annual ecumenical Holy Week luncheons. We also enjoy regular events at Pleasant Grove, our partner church campus, like hymn sings, special worship services, and cookouts.

The Basics
The Springfield Presbyterian Church has had a vital presence in Central Kentucky since 1792 when it was still the western frontier of Virginia. We are blessed to meet in an historic sanctuary built somewhere around 1880. Our worship style incorporates some responsive reading and both contemporary and traditional music. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month.
