SPC Choir – Join the Chorus!
Do you love to sing? We’d love to sing with you!
No need to worry if you can’t read music—we provide practice recordings to help you learn by ear. The choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in the church sanctuary. We sing, we laugh, we pray and by the end of rehearsal, you’ll feel truly energized! You don’t have to be a church member to join—everyone is welcome!
Our choir is made up of people who love to sing and praise the Lord through music! They help lead the congregation in singing hymns each week from the choir loft and present special cantatas during Easter and Christmas. Choir members also often share beautiful music during the offering—such as a duet, a trio, ladies’ choir, and the Gospel Gang men’s group. Their joyful hearts in the Lord and love for music bring beauty and depth to our worship every week.
If you’d like to learn more, receive the rehearsal schedule, or speak with our music director, please email musicministry@springfieldkypres.church.
Praise Team
Our church is richly blessed with talented musicians who love to serve God through music! The Praise Team brings a vibrant blend of styles to our worship services, including Bluegrass Gospel, Southern Gospel, traditional hymns, Jazz, and modern Worship Songs.
If you love old-fashioned country -style church worship, the fourth Sunday of each month is especially for you! Our Bluegrass Gospel Team shares beautiful music during the offering, and we sing some of our favorite old hymns together. It’s a joyful and heartfelt time of worship that brings all generations together!
Our Musical Events:
Easter and Christmas Cantata
Springfield Presbyterian Church Choir joyfully presents special cantatas during our Easter and Christmas worship services. These seasonal musical offerings are a highlight of the year, combining Scripture, narration, and beautiful choral music to celebrate the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The cantatas bring together voices with about 12 weeks of fun rehearsals, and prayer. Whether you’re a long-time choir member or joining for a season, it’s a meaningful way to serve through music and grow in your experience of these sacred seasons. We invite you to come and worship with us—and if you love to sing, consider joining us for the next cantata!
Hanging of the Greens Service
This is one of our favorite church traditions! In this special service, we decorate the sanctuary for Christmas while reflecting on the meaning behind each symbol—wreaths, the tree, candles, even candy canes—all pointing to the celebration of Jesus Christ. We sing traditional hymns and hear the story of His coming through Scripture. At the end of the service, everyone gathers around the big tree to decorate it together. It’s a joyful and meaningful way to begin the Christmas season!
Candlelight Service
On Christmas Eve, we gather for a beautiful candlelight service filled with warmth, reflection, and joy. Together, we sing traditional hymns and hear the story of Christ’s birth through Scripture. It’s a peaceful and meaningful way to celebrate the true light of Christmas.
